Day 8 Montreal

We arrived here at 7am at the cruise dock after a nice early 507am Sunrise…pretty approach on the St Lawrence River to this beautiful  city..we’re walking the downtown …started off at 9am first stop Cathedral of Montreal..magnificient  .. we took a short break at a local Mickey D’s for some free wifi..  back to walking the streets and quaint shops…. back to the ship and off to the Pinnacle at 6pm for a  great dinner…  shrimp cocktail.. big monster size shrimp… Lobster Bissque.. followed by a nice rare 10 oz Filet Mignon… Sabayon Berries for a different kind of dessert as I skipped the Creme Brulee.  what a super great dinner… can’t say enuff kudos about it… Allan from the Maasdam Europe cruise last October was our Wine Steward

Day 7 Quebec City

a pretty morning as the sun was out with clear blue skies..temps up to 64*… we decided to walk the city both Upper Town and Lower Town… pretty old buildings in Upper Town with the Notre Dame Cathedral as the highlight..  a walk thru the many streets with European flair in Lower Town.. a quik stop for some Gelato of course at a local cafe’…  as we were walking back to the ship about 1pm the rains came… got a bit wet  but all in all a nice day.. we’ll be back here in two days on Sunday on our return-cruise back to Boston..tomorrow is our last port on this segment of the cruise–Montreal

Day 5 Charlottetown Prince Edward Island

arrived at 9am again to overcast skies and temps at 39*…  in about an hour the Sun broke thru with blue skies–yippee– so off we went on a Hop On tour bus of Charlottetown.. a quaint but small city that wants to be big..   even has a Horse Track–Trotters and a Casino..

DAY 3 Halifax

Arrived in this ‘big small city’ port at 8am..kewl temps 41*..but no rain..our tour didn’t leave until 930am..great tour with a fantastic guide..the Citadel fort…Halifax Gardens…out to Peggy’s Cove where we had a great lunch..actually better than ‘Ba Ha Ba’ yesterday..after leaving the Cove on the drive back to Halifax a last stop at the Titanic Cemetery Memorial at Fairview..121 bodies are buried here..most with names and unbelievably some with just an ID number.. it was back to the ship ..some light rain as we were leaving the cemetery….a nice day overall

Day 2 Bar Harbor

was up and about for early non-Sunrise at 455am with overcast skies .. just 45*…  went over on the tender at 9am.. walked the quaint town of Bar Harbor .. had lunch at 1130am at Stewman’s Lobster House on the water overlooking the harbor…  as certified tourists –tourons– we had to have the  Lobster Bisque..Clam Chowder and a Lobster Roll…  super good lunch… more walking the town then hopped on the 130pm tender back to the ship… at 3pm we set sail for our next port–Halifax, Nova Scotia with arrival there tomorrow morning at 7am…

Day 1 Boston onboard the Maasdam

left the hotel ..about 12 miles to the cruise port..e-z to find…boarded at 1150am..e-z also..a quik lite lunch of prime rib..gotta have those chocolate chip cookies..lifeboat drill at 315pm..Capt Ane is onboard..like being home..a bit kewl temps with the light breeze coming off the 50*waters..

up to Boston

drove up to the Boston area for our 14 day cruise that sails tomorrow Saturday May 24.. rain.. mist.. hazy conditions thru Connecticut into Massachussettes ..stayed at the Candlewood Suites in Braintree south of Boston for the nite

heading north

at 630am started on our latest 3 week trip driving up to Baltimore today ..just before getting there stopped at our favorite crab house restaurant–Mike’s Crab House in Annapolis…  what a crab cake.. perfect.. made for a  nice ‘sammich’    …great place.. great service too… ate out on the back deck on the water..71* and sunny all day… we set sail from  Boston on our 14 day Maasdam cruise to Quebec City and Montreal this Saturday
