sunrise ..and an Osprey

headed for the beach before sunrise.. the ‘usual suspects’ walking the beach..  nice morning 73*.. stopped at the lake on the drive home.. spotted this local resident Osprey at the very top of a tree near its nest…looks like he was waiting for a ‘fish breakfast’

fishin’ on the ICW.. an Anhinga and a Charleston day trip

a not so great sunrise at the beach this morning.. left the beach.. headed over to the ICW small pier to ‘wet a line’.. no luck as the Sun peaked thru the low clouds later than expected.. stopped at the Lake for a few pics then headed home..by 9am we decided to take a drive down Rt 17 to Charleston SC once again.. a 2.5 hour e-z drive for us.. been there many times in the past..Charleston is just a nice place for us to spend a day .. walked the Battery and Rainbow Row.. a bit of HEAT .. actual temps up to near 100* so we made the walk short.. and of course a lil’ bit of shopping that the HEAT never interferes with  🙂

a long slow journey to the dunes..

for this mama Sea Turtle during the nite-time hours.. up from the ocean onto the dunes to make a nest for her eggs..  the Turtle Watchers Club was out early this morning and assisted in sectioning off the nest– one of many along this stretch of Sunset Beach

‘peeps’ on the beach.. and ‘Pluto meets Pluto’

again decided not to ‘wet a line’ in the surf–this is getting old– with the water churned up I made the right decision.. saw a couple of fishermen trying their luck.. I was out there near an hour and never saw them get a hit ..waste of time..  so glad he was located  🙂 🙂

after 3+ billion miles and over 9 years they found everyone’s favorite pup

a few from the beach

stopped down at 40th street .. not much of a sunrise with low clouds.. wind was going strong SW at 20-25 .. high tide so not much beach..  current running sideways  with ruff seas.. then it was a stop a half mile away at  da’ Pier area.. and watched a whacko take his morning dip… besides the ruff surf I guess he doesn’t care about all the shark incidents around these waters lately..

sunrise on the beach– 40th street

on a Saturday morning.. today is another ‘changeover’ day for the tourons.. keeps a lot of them away from the beach  so mostly local  dogwalkers were out and about .. pretty morning.. lots of humidity though..
